In the Year of the Malachite Shadows, 1460 DR, the Warlock Knights used Telos' power to begin a war of conquest across Vaasa, and ultimately seized control of the realm by the Year of the Second Circle, 1470 DR.

The Knights began to mine the primordial's body for ironfell and learned how to siphon his power. The one who first discovered him ended up adopting the title of the Voice of Telos, and founded the organization that would become the Warlock Knights. His impact left a crater that was a half-mile (805 meters) wide and 800 feet (244 meters) deep, and left him in a seemingly permanent catatonic state. Telos arrived on Toril when he fell to the Vaasan tundra as a "shooting star" during the Spellplague. This material was mined extensively by the Warlock Knights to make their weapons, armor, and distinctive rings. Telos' body was made of ironfell, a magical metal-like substance which he would quickly regenerate if it was removed from him. In truth, Telos was comatose and immobile ever since his arrival on Toril, although his dreams and unconscious thoughts were known by at least some members of the Warlock Knights. Publicly, Telos was venerated by the Warlock Knights during the 15th century DR, and some commonfolk believed that Telos himself was the Knights' enigmatic leader.
